Puppy wipes: what the label says about age
Use puppy wipes only if the label states a minimum age and your puppy has reached it. If you want dog wipes for puppies, start with Earthbath Ultra-Mild: it is the only one here with "puppy" in its name, and the maker states 6 weeks. If you want no fragrance at the same age, take Earthbath's hypoallergenic wipe.

Not veterinary advice. This page has not been reviewed by a veterinarian; it summarizes published veterinary sources, linked in the text. If your pet has a skin problem, a wound, or symptoms that do not clear up, talk to your vet.
The ages we found on maker pages are 6 weeks (Earthbath) and 8 weeks (Earth Rated). Other makers state no age, which is a reason to ask your vet before you use the wipe. These are makers' numbers. We found no veterinary source that sets an age for wipes.
Check the age before the brand
| Wipe | Stated minimum age | Fragrance |
|---|---|---|
| Earthbath Ultra-Mild Puppy Wipes, Wild Cherry | 6 weeks | Botanical wild cherry fragrance |
| Earthbath Hypo-Allergenic Grooming Wipes | 6 weeks | Fragrance-free |
| Earth Rated Unscented | 8 weeks | Fragrance-free (unscented wipe) |
| TropiClean Hypoallergenic | None (maker says mild enough for puppies) | Fragrance-free |
| Pogi's Fragrance Free | None | Fragrance-free |
"Mild enough for puppies" is a claim. It isn't an age, and we don't guess one for you.
Younger than the pack allows
No maker here states an age below 6 weeks. Skip any wipe on a puppy younger than the number on its pack. Warm water on a cloth is the plainer substitute, and your vet can advise. A medicated wipe on a puppy is a decision for the vet.
From 6 weeks: Earthbath
Earthbath Ultra-Mild is our pick. The maker prints the full ingredient list: a soy-protein cleanser, rice extract, avocado and sunflower oils, chamomile, aloe, awapuhi, ginseng and phenoxyethanol, with botanical wild cherry fragrance. Skip it if you want no fragrance.
Earthbath
Earthbath Ultra-Mild Puppy Wipes, Wild Cherry
Best for puppies needing a mild lightly scented wipe
Skip if you want a fragrance-free puppy wipe

Earthbath's hypoallergenic wipe has the same stated age, no fragrance and no alcohol, per the maker. It is a dog wipe and not a puppy line, so check that the age on your pack matches. It has its own card in the hypoallergenic guide.
From 8 weeks: Earth Rated
Earth Rated Unscented has an 8 x 8 in. sheet and an 8-week minimum age, and is fragrance-free and alcohol-free per the maker, which prints its full ingredient list. A big sheet can be too much for a toy-breed puppy, but you can fold it. It isn't a puppy-specific product, and the lavender version lists lavender oil. Details are in the Earth Rated review.
No age on the pack: ask your vet first
TropiClean's hypoallergenic wipe suits puppy and kitten homes. The maker says the wipes are for dogs and cats and mild enough for puppies and kittens, but gives no age. Ask your vet before using it on the youngest puppies.
TropiClean
TropiClean Hypoallergenic Pet Wipes, Fragrance Free, 100ct
Best for routine deodorizing wipe-downs with a hypoallergenic, fragrance-free formula
Skip if you avoid botanical extracts like lavender or tea tree

Pogi's has the short label: seven ingredients and no fragrance. The maker gives no minimum age and says nothing on cats, so a young puppy is a question for the vet before you use it. See the Pogi's review.

Three well-known puppy products are not featured because we have only retailer data. Burt's Bees Puppy Wipes: we found no ingredients, scent or age (see the Burt's Bees review). Arm & Hammer's coconut water puppy wipes: only marketing text, ingredients unconfirmed. Espree's aloe puppy wipes: retailers disagree on the formula. Check their packs.
Puppy wipes vs baby wipes
Baby wipes are formulated for human skin and aren't labeled for pets. Pet wipes are formulated with pets in mind, and some state a minimum age. We have not tested either. The practical differences are on the label: fragrance, alcohol and preservatives. Several baby wipes contain preservatives we flag in the ingredient reference, and some "sensitive" baby wipes still add fragrance. We found no study of baby wipes on puppies, so we can't call them safe for one. A soft cloth with warm water is the plainer choice for a young puppy. The longer answer is in can you use baby wipes on dogs.
Where a wipe fits in the first weeks
- Paws and rear end. These are the likely spots. Wipe, then dry thoroughly, as in the paw guide.
- Face and eyes. Use a product made for it. See dog eye wipes.
- Licking. Puppies mouth everything. Choose fragrance-free, and avoid anything with alcohol or xylitol.
- Smell. Odor in a puppy is a question for the vet. For adult dogs, see dog wipes for body odor.
- Teeth. A body wipe is not a mouth product. See dog dental wipes, and ask your vet before starting any mouth routine on a young puppy.
If your puppy has diarrhea, bald patches, red skin or smells yeasty, don't wipe more often. Call the vet. Skip wipes if your puppy is younger than the age on the pack, if the pack has no age, or if you want to treat a skin problem. With a kitten at home, read are dog wipes safe for cats.
What the puppy picks rest on
We looked for puppy-labeled wipes and mild everyday wipes with a readable maker page. Retailer-only products are out of the cards, which narrows the list. We have not tested any wipe and use no prices or ratings. Maker pages checked 2026-10-15. Method: how we research.
Frequently asked questions
Are dog wipes safe for puppies?
Only if the label says so, and only above the age it states. Makers who state an age say 6 weeks (Earthbath) or 8 weeks (Earth Rated). Others, such as Pogi's, state none. With no age on the pack, ask your vet.
What are the best dog wipes for puppies?
A mild wipe with a stated minimum age that your puppy meets (a puppy safe wipe, in label terms). Earthbath's puppy wipe states 6 weeks and has a botanical fragrance. The fragrance-free option with the same stated age is Earthbath's hypoallergenic wipe.
Can I use baby wipes on a puppy?
We found no study of baby wipes on puppies, so nothing confirms they are safe, and young puppies lick everything. A soft cloth with warm water is the plainer choice. Alcohol, fragrance and certain preservatives are the issues. The detail is in can you use baby wipes on dogs.
How old does a puppy need to be for wipes?
There is no universal age. Each maker sets its own, and some state none. Treat the maker's number as the floor. For a puppy younger than the label allows, ask your vet.
Can I use puppy wipes between baths?
Yes. That is their purpose: a light wipe-down for paws, rear end and coat when a full bath isn't needed. They won't solve a skin problem or a persistent smell. Those are vet questions.
Can I use pet wipes on myself or my kids after handling a puppy?
No. Pet wipes are made for pets and carry no human-skin claims. Wash your hands with soap and water instead.
