Burt's Bees dog wipes: a label review of the dog, puppy, cat and eye-ear wipes
This is a label review, not a hands-on test, and a thin one: we could not read a Burt's Bees page, so it rests on retailer listings. Burt's Bees makes four pet wipes with short ingredient lists. The honey wipe for dogs is the one worth considering: seven ingredients, no added fragrance. The puppy wipe has almost nothing on record, so we can't recommend it.

Not veterinary advice. This page has not been reviewed by a veterinarian; it summarizes published veterinary sources, linked in the text. If your pet has a skin problem, a wound, or symptoms that do not clear up, talk to your vet.
Buy it if you want spot cleaning and paw wipe-ups with a short, fragrance-free list, or you need the cat wipe for light dander on a cat that tolerates handling.
Pick something else if you want thick XL sheets (no size is published), odor control or a medicated wipe, your pet reacts to honey, oat or phenoxyethanol, or you want a puppy wipe with a stated minimum age. Puppy wipes lists options.
Every detail below comes from retail listings other than Amazon, checked 2026-10-15, and we mark where listings disagree. For the other makers, see dog wipe brands compared and best dog wipes.
The four wipes
They do different jobs, so one verdict for the brand would mislead.
- Multipurpose honey wipes for dogs: 50 count, fragrance free per listings, for paws, body and face.
- Puppy wipes with buttermilk: 50 count. We found no ingredients, scent or minimum age.
- Cat dander-reducing wipes with colloidal oat flour: 50 count, made for cats.
- Eye and ear cleansing wipes for dogs: 100 count, fragrance free, dogs only.

The listed ingredients are water, coco betaine, glycerin, honey, citric acid, potassium sorbate and phenoxyethanol.
- Coco betaine is the cleanser, a mild surfactant made from coconut oil. See coconut-derived surfactants. The ASPCA statement on coconut concerns food, not purified surfactants, and we found no veterinary source on the surfactants themselves.
- Glycerin and honey keep the wipe moist and soft on skin. Honey is the allergen to know about if your dog reacts to bee products.
- Potassium sorbate and Phenoxyethanol are preservatives. We found no veterinary toxicity source on phenoxyethanol at wipe levels, and for cats the evidence is unsettled.
The directions are to wipe from the back of the ears to the tail and avoid the eyes. No alcohol appears in the list, though no listing states alcohol status outright. Listings also differ on natural origin, 98% on some and 99.7% on others. Treat that number as marketing until Burt's Bees says how it defines it.
The cat wipe

The cat wipe lists water, coco betaine, glycerin, honey, citric acid, potassium sorbate, phenoxyethanol and colloidal oat flour. Next to the dog honey wipe, the main addition is colloidal oat. One retailer also lists aloe leaf powder and another doesn't. That is the conflict that matters, because aloe is on the ASPCA toxic list for cats. Check the pack before buying. The label says to wipe from the back of the ears to the tail and avoid the eyes.
Both honey wipes carry potassium sorbate and phenoxyethanol, and cats are the reason that matters. Our ingredient entry for potassium sorbate found no veterinary source on it, and phenoxyethanol's status for cats is unconfirmed, so this is a gap, not a warning. The eye and ear wipe
Burt's Bees
Burt's Bees for Dogs Eye & Ear Cleansing Wipes
Best for one gentle fragrance-free wipe for tear-stain residue around eyes and outer ear build-up
Skip if you want medicated action; do not wipe directly into the eye; see a vet for red, painful or discharging eyes or ears

This is a different formula: purified water, decyl glucoside, lauryl glucoside, a lauryl glucoside crosspolymer, coco glucoside, glyceryl oleate, glycerin, potassium sorbate, phenoxyethanol and citric acid. It rests on sugar-derived glucoside cleansers instead of coco betaine. The retailer text claims 98% natural origin (a maker claim as relayed) and no sulfates or colorants.
It is a gentle wipe, not a medicated one. Never wipe into the eye, and see a vet for red, painful or discharging eyes or ears. Other options are in dog eye wipes and dog ear wipes.

All we found is that a 50-count buttermilk puppy wipe exists. We won't guess at the rest. For a young puppy, check the Burt's Bees pack or pick from puppy wipes.
If sheet size and a maker page matter
Earthbath's fragrance-free grooming wipe, which has a maker page, publishes its full list and states a made-in-USA claim, though it too gives no sheet size.

What we couldn't verify
Anything on a Burt's Bees product page, since the maker's pet wipe pages could not be fetched. That leaves open the sheet size and material of all four wipes, alcohol status for the dog multipurpose, puppy, cat and eye-ear wipes, the cat wipe's aloe powder, the puppy wipe's ingredients, scent and minimum age, and the natural-origin percentages.
Stop using any wipe that causes redness or itching, and ask your vet.
Frequently asked questions
What are the ingredients in Burt's Bees dog wipes?
The multipurpose honey wipe lists water, coco betaine, glycerin, honey, citric acid, potassium sorbate and phenoxyethanol, per retailer listings. The eye and ear wipe has a different, glucoside-based list. Details are above.
Are Burt's Bees dog wipes safe for cats?
Burt's Bees makes a separate cat wipe, and that is the one labeled for cats. We found no cat statement for the dog multipurpose and puppy wipes, and the eye and ear wipe is for dogs only.
Can I use Burt's Bees cat wipes on my dog?
We found no maker statement either way. The cat wipe's list is nearly the same as the dog multipurpose wipe's, but that isn't the maker approving it for dogs.
Are Burt's Bees dog wipes hypoallergenic?
The multipurpose wipe is sold as hypoallergenic. The word isn't regulated for pet products, so read the ingredients for anything your pet reacts to, such as honey or phenoxyethanol.
How big are the sheets, and where are they made?
No listing we used gives a sheet size. For made-in, one retailer says the eye and ear wipe is made in the USA with global ingredients; the dog and cat wipes have nothing. If thick, large sheets matter, look at wipes that publish a size.
