Earth Rated vs Pogi's dog wipes

Pick Pogi's if you have a big dog or want a short ingredient list you can check. Pick Earth Rated if you want a stated minimum age (8 weeks), a Leaping Bunny certification or a 60-count pack to try first. Neither is medicated, and neither is labeled for cats.

Pogi's has the larger sheet (8 x 9 inches against 8 x 8) and the shorter list: seven ingredients against seventeen. Earth Rated lists its 60-count pack as "60 XL" and gives no separate sheet size for it. We compare the unscented Earth Rated with the fragrance-free Pogi's, both everyday fragrance-free dog wipes.

All details come from the makers' product pages as checked on 2026-10-15; this is a label comparison, and we did not test either product. Full write-ups: Earth Rated review and Pogi's review. Other makers are in dog wipe brands compared, and wider picks in best dog wipes.

Where they differ

Size and counts

The makers state 8 x 8 inches for Earth Rated and 8 x 9 for Pogi's. That is one extra inch on one side. It is a real but small difference, and thickness will matter more for large paws than a single inch. Neither maker gives a weight. Earth Rated's unscented wipe comes in 60, 100 and 400 counts, Pogi's in 100 and 400 plus 120 and 240 travel packs. If you want to try a wipe without buying a tub, Earth Rated's 60 is the smallest single option here, while Pogi's travel packs suit a bag or car.

Material

Pogi's states a thick, textured bamboo-fiber cloth. Earth Rated states viscose fibers derived from wood pulp. Both are plant-derived; neither maker says how the sheet performs when wet.

Ingredients

Pogi's list: purified water, aloe vera extract, vitamin E, awapuhi extract, cucumber extract, polysorbate 20, benzoic acid. Earth Rated prints seventeen: aqua, glycerin, chamomile flower extract, aloe leaf extract, shea butter, polyaminopropyl biguanide, phenoxyethanol, ethylhexylglycerin, raspberry ketone, caprylyl glycol, cucumber extract, pomegranate extract, tocopheryl acetate, citric acid, sodium citrate, sodium bicarbonate and decyl glucoside. The maker says its list is subject to change and that the wipes are free from alcohol and parabens.

They overlap on aloe vera, vitamin E and cucumber. Earth Rated adds Chamomile extract, which the ASPCA lists as toxic to dogs and cats when eaten, with contact dermatitis possible, and a preservative system built on polyaminopropyl biguanide and Phenoxyethanol. We found no source that sets a level for a wipe extract. Pogi's preserves with benzoic acid instead. Both lists are complete, so you can check either against your dog's triggers, but Pogi's has far fewer lines to check. See what's in pet wipes.

Eco and ethics claims

Earth Rated: wood-pulp viscose fibers and Leaping Bunny certification (a cruelty-free program). Pogi's: bamboo-fiber cloth, and a "cruelty-free" statement with no named certification. The retailer claims of compostable and USDA Biobased that appear for Earth Rated are not on the maker page, so we do not count them. Both makers say not to flush. If you want a verifiable eco badge, Earth Rated's certification is the stronger of the two stated claims, but it is about animal testing, not landfill impact.

Verdict by scenario

  • Big dogs and wide paws: Pogi's. It has the larger stated sheet and a thick-cloth description. We haven't handled either, so check how it holds up on wet mud.
  • Sensitive skin: Pogi's, because seven ingredients are quicker to check against your dog's triggers than seventeen. Earth Rated's unscented may suit equally well. If chamomile or phenoxyethanol troubles your dog, that favors Pogi's. If your dog reacts to benzoates, the reverse may apply, so check the pack.
  • Eco priority: a draw, unless Leaping Bunny is your tie-breaker, and then it's Earth Rated. Earth Rated has the named certification and wood-pulp viscose, and Pogi's has bamboo. Neither claims compostability.
  • Cats in the house: neither. Earth Rated's maker acknowledges cat use and sends you to a vet. Pogi's is silent and lists benzoic acid. If a cat will be wiped, choose one from best cat wipes.
  • Puppies: Earth Rated, since it states 8 weeks and Pogi's states no age. See also puppy wipes.
  • Medicated or yeast problems: neither. See wipes for yeast and ask your vet.

What we couldn't verify

Earth Rated's made-in country, and Pogi's minimum age, made-in country and anything about cats. How either performs for thickness, tearing, moisture after opening or residue, which needs hands-on testing we haven't done.

If your dog shows redness or itching after any wipe, stop using it and ask your vet.

Frequently asked questions

Which is bigger, Earth Rated or Pogi's wipes?

Pogi's. The makers state 8 x 9 inches for Pogi's and 8 x 8 inches for Earth Rated.

Which has the shorter ingredient list?

Pogi's. Its maker publishes seven ingredients for the fragrance-free wipe. Earth Rated's maker page prints a longer list of seventeen, including several preservatives and a baking-soda component.

Are Earth Rated or Pogi's wipes safer for cats?

Neither is labeled for cats. Earth Rated says many cat owners use its wipes and to consult a vet if your cat has sensitivities; Pogi's does not address cats. Pogi's lists benzoic acid, and Earth Rated lists phenoxyethanol, so each has a reason for extra caution with cats.

Which is more eco-friendly?

The claims are not directly comparable. Earth Rated states plant-based fibers and Leaping Bunny certification; Pogi's states a bamboo-fiber cloth. Neither maker page states a compostability claim, and both say not to flush.

Which is better for sensitive skin?

Neither maker can promise it, because hypoallergenic is not a regulated claim. Both publish a full list, and Pogi's is much shorter, which makes it easier to check against your dog's triggers. See the verdict by scenario below.

Do both come in 400 counts?

Yes. Earth Rated unscented comes in 60, 100 and 400; Pogi's in 100 and 400, plus travel packs of 120 and 240.
