Petkin pet wipes: a label review of Big n Thick Natural vs Oatmeal

This is a label review, not a hands-on test. Petkin Big n Thick is a scented, thick-sheet wipe aimed at homes with both dogs and cats. Of our two records, take the Natural. The Oatmeal record rests on a single retailer page.

Buy it if you want one wipe for a dog and a cat household, you like a deodorizing scent, and you are fine reading the pack for the full ingredient list.

Pick something else if you need fragrance-free, a confirmed sheet size or a published ingredient list. For fragrance-free wipes labeled for both species, look at TropiClean or Earthbath below.

The data comes from the maker's product page for the Natural wipe and a retailer title for the Oatmeal, read on 2026-10-15. For the best everyday picks across brands, see best dog wipes.

Natural or Oatmeal?

The Natural wipe is the better documented one. The maker page for it lists a gentle cleanser, organic oat extract, aloe vera, vitamin E and a deodorizing fragrance, and says no parabens or sulfates. It also says the wipe is safe for the face, ears, eye area and pets that lick, and that it will not remove spot flea treatments.

The Oatmeal record is secondary only. It comes from one retailer's title and description: 100 sheets, labeled for dogs and cats, with oat, vitamin E and aloe. We found no matching 100 count Oatmeal page on petkin.com. The maker sells a Big N' Thick line in 150 counts that is formulated with organic oat extract, so the two may be related, but we can't say how. Treat every Oatmeal detail as unconfirmed.

Label walk-through

Here is what the Natural page gives us, in the maker's order.

  • Gentle cleanser: unnamed. This is the base of the wipe liquid, and without a name we can't check it.
  • Organic oat extract: a skin-soothing ingredient used in many dry-skin products. The page gives no amount, and our reference entry covers colloidal oatmeal, which is a related but not identical form.
  • Aloe vera: on the ASPCA toxic-plant list for the whole plant. Wipe-grade extract is used at low levels, and no source we found sets a safe amount. It matters most for pets that lick.
  • Vitamin E: a conditioning ingredient.
  • Deodorizing fragrance: the maker doesn't say what is in it. Retailer pages describe scents such as vanilla and coconut, and they disagree with each other, so we don't rely on them.

The maker says the wipe is safe for pets that lick. We can't see the basis for that claim. A scented wipe on a paw will end up in a mouth. If your pet reacts to fragrance, pick an unscented formula. For how to read a list like this, see what's in pet wipes.

Sheet size and count

The Natural page has no sheet size, no material and no made-in country. The maker's separate Unscented 150 count wipe states 7 x 11 inches, which is big. We can't assume the 100 count matches. Both our Petkin records are 100-count tubs. If sheet area decides your purchase, Earth Rated (8 x 8 in.) and Pogi's (8 x 9 in.) state theirs. See the Earth Rated review.

Cats

Cats: check the label. The maker page says pets and doesn't name species. Retailer titles say dogs and cats. A scented wipe with an unnamed fragrance is a weak match for a cat that grooms itself. If cats are the main user, start with best cat wipes.

Alternatives

TropiClean's hypoallergenic wipe is fragrance free and states, per the maker, that it is for dogs and cats. It publishes only a short list of named key ingredients. Earthbath publishes a full list for its fragrance-free dog wipe and states a made-in-USA claim, but that one is a dog product.

Where it fits among everyday wipes

Petkin tells you less than Pogi's or Burt's Bees (Burt's from retailer listings), which print a whole short list, and less than Earth Rated, whose maker page now prints its full list. TropiClean gives highlights only. Petkin gives highlights plus a fragrance it doesn't name. That is fine for a mud-and-smell wipe-down on a healthy dog. It is a poor fit for a pet with itchy skin, where you want to rule out triggers one by one and need the full list to do it.

The cat label is the one reason to bother with Petkin. Few thick-sheet wipes in our data are labeled for both species, and the stated face, ear and eye-area use is wider than most. A wider claim isn't proof, though: read the pack, patch-test on a small area, and watch whether the pet goes after the spot.

What we couldn't verify

A full ingredient list for either wipe, the sheet size and material of the 100 count, the identity of the fragrance, and whether the Oatmeal is a current maker product at all. We also can't speak to thickness, tear strength or moisture after opening, which need hands-on testing.

If a wipe causes redness, itching or swelling, stop using it and ask your vet.
